The trailhead is located southwest of South Fork. Head west out of South Fork on Highway 160 for 1.4 miles and turn left on the Beaver Creek Road. Proceed for 2.8 miles until you see the U.S. Forest Service Guard Station on your right. CDOT plows a small pull-out that leads to a chain-link fenced area and you can park here.
The ski trail is located in the Rio Grande National Forest, in the eastern foothills of the San Juan Mountains. The meadows and hills provide fairly easy terrain with slight grades and a few short steep hills. It curves through trees and open space and the Rio Grande River is just to the north. It is very picturesque! The length of the entire trail system is about 2.2 miles or 3.5 kilometers.
